Well, I got that dreaded warning that I don't have enough followers for the Partner Program, so here I am getting serious about committing to writing. My first step is to stop by authors I like and show that yes, I'm picking up what you're throwing down. I'm committing to follow, like, and comment meaningfully, and I'm hoping for the same, but I'll settle for a kind Follow Back from anyone who reads this! This is my most recent piece, published in Frame Rated: https://medium.com/framerated/birthing-a-film-guillermo-del-toros-real-nightmare-3782de6ae256

With this story in particular, it was really interesting to hear the perspective from a Mandarin-speaker, Chris. I think I might've liked Shang-Chi just a bit more than you, and forgive it for not being all that original. After all, Western audiences ate up Kill Bill Vol. 1 with a spoon, and it was (literally in some scenes) a case of copying and pasting from very well-known Martial Arts films. So I can forgive Shang-Chi, even though I think I mostly had the same uninspired reaction as you, for many of the same story reasons.

I could've watched another 30 minutes at least of Tony and Michelle though...just sideline Shawn and Katy and give me their movie instead!
